This filter did not work in my Samsung refrigerator, which is less than a
year old. I installed it, and it would not flow water when turned to
the locked position. It was only when I turned it back to a position
somewhat in between "insert" and locked position that it would flow
water. I briefly considered leaving it in this position, assuming it
would work well enough, and that it was just a bit misaligned. I feared
that it would pop off though and leak water everywhere. Fortunately the
refrigerator made the decision clear, as it began to chirp and flash
lights continually. It flashed the energy saver light on and off rapidly
and was annoyingly loud. As a simple test, I swapped back in the
original Samsung filter that came with the fridge. All noises and light
flashing stopped. I then went down to Best Buy and bought another
filter. This one worked perfectly. I can only assume that the filter
sold on Amazon is flawed or defective and being sold as authentic, new,
first quality. Obviously the locking lugs on the filter were not in
proper alignment with the water holes. Counterfeit part? A rip off. Now
I'm outside the return window and out my money. Better off paying full
price for a working authentic first quality filter.
I was
excited to purchase a 3-pack of filters for the fridge. Yes, excited.
That's a whole year and a half of worry-free filtering. I installed the
first filter and the water barely trickled out of the dispenser. I very
patiently attempted to flush the required 2 1/2 gallons through the
system - the first 1/2 gallon took several minutes. I thought that maybe
it just need to get warmed
up/primed/whatever-justfication-i-could-think-of. After only one gallon,
I decided I had a bad filter and tried the 2nd of 3. The 2nd filter
worked great and I kept my fingers crossed for the 3rd. I was willing to
take the hit on one bad filter (just lazy that way). ...6 months later
and I just tried to install the 3rd filter. Same issues as the first.
